Who We Are
An International Engineering Team Focused on Scale
My Energy Global's design and engineering division is not a residential shop that happens to take commercial calls. We are a C&I-first engineering team — built to handle the complexity, scale, and documentation requirements of commercial and industrial solar projects across Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, and Central America.
Our team brings over 11,000 projects of design experience earned in the United States — across multi-family housing, manufacturing facilities, cold storage warehouses, convention centers, and municipal infrastructure. That track record includes engineering the first zero-net-energy apartments ever built and a project recognized as "Project of the Year" by the US Green Building Council.
At the global level, we serve developers, EPCs, asset owners, and industrial operators who need more than a plan set — they need a partner who understands the full energy economics of a project, the ITC landscape in Canada, and the supply chain realities of international solar procurement.

Common Questions
C&I Solar Engineering — What You Need to Know
Questions we hear from developers, contractors, and project owners across our global markets.
What does a commercial solar engineering package from My Energy Global include?
A full C&I engineering engagement includes energy analysis and system sizing, electrical and structural engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, equipment schedules, wiring specifications, and PE-stamped plan sets ready for Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) submission. We also support utility interconnection applications, ITC-eligible equipment documentation for Canadian clients, and can coordinate directly with My Energy Global's international supply chain for procurement. Deliverables are provided in PDF and CAD formats.
What types of commercial and industrial projects does your engineering team handle?
Our team designs solar PV systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), microgrids, and EV fleet charging infrastructure for manufacturing and industrial facilities, cold storage and distribution warehouses, multi-family residential portfolios, convention centers, municipal infrastructure, and mixed-use commercial developments. We have designed systems ranging from small commercial rooftops to multi-MW ground-mount arrays, and have experience across jurisdictions in Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, Central America, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Which markets and jurisdictions does My Energy Global's engineering division serve?
My Energy Global provides C&I solar engineering services internationally, with active projects and distribution infrastructure across Canada (Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, the Maritimes), the United States, the Bahamas and wider Caribbean, Central America, and Southeast Asia. Our engineering team produces jurisdiction-specific deliverables including NEC-compliant designs for US markets, code-compliant sets for Canadian AHJs, and internationally adapted plan sets for island and emerging-market utilities. Each jurisdiction has distinct interconnection requirements — we handle all of them.
Do you provide PE-stamped engineering drawings?
Yes. All plan sets requiring professional engineer approval are stamped by licensed Professional Engineers in both electrical and structural disciplines. Stamped drawings are typically required for commercial permit applications, utility interconnection, and project financing. We coordinate the PE stamp process for each jurisdiction so you receive permit-ready documents without managing multiple engineering firms.
What is the difference between pre-engineering and full engineering?
Pre-engineering is a front-end feasibility phase that produces conceptual system designs, preliminary financial models, bid evaluation support, and cost estimation — all before full engineering spend is committed. It is used to qualify a site, support a funding or incentive application, or evaluate competing equipment proposals. Full engineering follows when a project proceeds to permitting: it produces the complete, stamped, permit-ready drawing set and all technical specifications required for construction and utility approval. My Energy Global offers both phases as standalone services or as a single integrated engagement.
What software and standards does your team use for system design?
Our engineering team uses industry-standard solar design and energy modeling platforms including PVsyst and Helioscope for production modeling and system optimization. Electrical designs are produced in compliance with applicable standards including NEC Article 690 (US), the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), IEEE 1547 for interconnection, and IEC 61215 / IEC 61730 for module performance. BESS designs reference UL 9540 and NFPA 855. Structural calculations follow ASCE 7 and local building code requirements.
Does My Energy Global offer financing or ownership structures for C&I projects?
Yes. Through our regional subsidiaries, My Energy offers third-party ownership (TPO) lease structures in select markets, allowing commercial clients to install solar with zero upfront capital and pay below their current utility rate from Day 1. In Canada, this structure is designed to align with the 30% refundable Clean Technology Investment Tax Credit (Bill C-59), which My Energy claims internally on owned systems. In the US and Caribbean, we work with project finance partners to structure power purchase agreements (PPAs) and commercial leases appropriate to each jurisdiction.
How long does the engineering process take?
Pre-engineering and feasibility studies typically complete within two to three weeks. Full engineering — from engagement to stamped, permit-ready plan set — generally takes four to eight weeks depending on project scale, jurisdiction complexity, and AHJ response times. Utility interconnection applications, which run in parallel, vary by utility and market. We build realistic timelines into every project scope so that engineering does not become the bottleneck between deal execution and shovel in the ground.
Can My Energy Global supply the equipment as well as design the system?
Yes. My Energy Global operates distribution hubs in Nassau, Miami, Panamá City, Shanghai, and Vancouver, giving our engineering clients direct access to a vetted international supply chain for solar panels, commercial inverters, racking systems, and battery storage. Equipment can be specified within the engineering design and procured through our network, simplifying project delivery and reducing the gap between design completion and equipment arrival on site.
